Car enthusiasts were amazed by the chassis, the suspension and the drive train that this powerful car featured. Earning the top spot as Motor Trend’s car of the year the same year it was released in 1964, the six cylinder engine and 105 rated horsepower is an obvious choice for classic car collectors as one of the best classic cars around.
The Chevrolet Impala classic from 1958 to 1967 took its official spot as one of GM’s most coveted classic cars when it came out with the exclusive upscale trim package. In the early years, the car’s engine options ranged from 234 hp with six cylinders to the 315 hp Super Turbo Thrust engine. In 1961, the traditional tail fins of the car were officially gone and replaced with a more subtle styling.
